Position Summary:
The St Vincent's inpatient Mental Health team provides specialist metabolic health assessment, intervention and treatment to consumers with a range of mental health issues and face a range of social challenges. The Clinical Nurse Consultant will have the opportunity to work in the inpatient mental health service, working alongside the diabetes MDT, treating consumers with often complex mental health needs and co-morbidities. The Clinical Nurse Consultant provides expert clinical advice and consultancy to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a Caritas Unit and actively contributes to the functioning and operations of the unit across all Clinical Nurse Consultant domains.
Applicants will benefit from having prior experience working in mental health or have a keen and motivated interest to pursue a career in mental health nursing.

In addition St Vincent's Hospital has partnered with University of Tasmania to offer post graduate mental health Qualifications to successful applicants. The post graduate study will be supported with up to 10 days of supernumerary study time, the unique relationship means the successful candidate will be able to access a supported post graduate programme with low fees to be paid for by the successful candidate.
