They have a strong pipeline of current and upcoming work for 2023 including new build schools, churches, aged care and fits outs of colleges, offices and universities. With major project focus in sourcing the best talent for the business, they are looking to appoint a savvy, influential, vibrant and commercially astute contract administrator with 3+ years experience at a commercial builder to their team on a permanent basis for a start ASAP (they are happy to wait for your notice period).
The business is a debt free company and pays their subbies on time, has a great team environment with good work life balance with 5 days a week in the head office. A good number of the staff started there as a cadet and have been so well looked after and supported that they are still with the business many years later.
The Role:
With high commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills and a sheer passion for your work, you will be required to work well autonomously, communicating effectively with the General Manager and your designated Project Manager daily. You will be focused negotiator, managing the financial aspects of sub-contract packages on mixed commercial projects.
They have excellent career progression plans and as the team grows, they like to employ new staff that start their career as a Contract Administrator as they tend to be naturally commercially astute, and the team feel that trained the right way, Contract Administrators lead on to be great Project Managers which is demonstrated by the excellent staff retention within the team. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing subcontract packages - scope of works, procurement, tender comparisons and scheduling
- Reviewing, negotiating, and finalising subcontracts
- Progress claim assistance, external variations, EOT's
- Administering RFIs
- Head Contract Management
- Cost management / budget reports
- Using Procore & Cheops.
To be Successful:
- You will have a minimum of 3 years + experience working on mixed commercial projects over $3 million
- Degree qualified in Construction Management or equivalent
- Experience in preparing sub contract packages, variations, EOTs and cost planning
- A thirst for a challenge, energy to over achieve, loyalty and vision to want to succeed and grow within the business
- If you have only worked for a residential builder or a subcontractor, unfortunately we cannot consider for this opportunity as the company are looking for someone specifically with commercial head contractor experience so you are familiar with processes and have experience negotiating with local subcontractors.
