job detailsThis small well known federal government authority is seeking and experienced Campaigns and Communications Officer to join a fast paced and small communications Team to contribute to the delivery of an awareness campaign with national scale.
Your new role
Will be to work alongside and supported by your leader in in developing a range of communication requirements within campaigns, social media, and communication including, but limited to;
...
- Social media management: creating and curating content, responding to inquiries, monitoring and analysing data
- Implementing communication strategies: including writing, editing and managing the production of internal and external communication materials for print and online distribution to support campaign objectives
- Contributing to campaign initiatives: including contributing to above and below-the line campaign initiatives, supporting the campaign team and wider communications team to deliver on programs and projects
Day to day tasks will involve:
- working as a member of a small team to write, edit and manage the production of internal and external communication materials for print and online distribution to support the campaign objectives including social media, newsletters and case studies
- assessing and analysing channel performance through data gathering to inform the achievement of communication objectives and evaluate the success of key aspects of the campaign
- managing campaign social media accounts, including moderating and managing our social community and sentiment, and responding to queries, questions and issues
- creating, implementing and coordinating social media posts, including working with stakeholders to create engaging content
- working with suppliers and internal subject matter experts to review and optimise their website content to improve overall first contact resolution and help to deflect inquiries progressing through to phone calls
- reviewing feedback received on website content supporting the campaign and working with internal subject matter experts to adjust, update, create or delete content as required to support campaign objectives
- maintaining relationships with manufacturers, distributors and retailers who have signed up to the scheme and proactively working to onboard new advocates
- supporting the campaign team and the wider communications branch to deliver on programs and projects
- working cooperatively and collaboratively with business stakeholders, including line areas as well as the client service Team, to meet campaign objectives
- appropriate management of time and workload to make sure both delivery and quality of the responsibilities and deliverables meet expectations;
Ideally you will have a baseline clearance but must undergo a police check prior to commencement. Candidates will ideally have proven experience in a campaigns, public affairs, stakeholder engagement or government communications at the APS5/6 level, ideally within a similar role will ensure that you hit the ground running in this fast moving and career building contract.
You will need to have proven excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to deliver outcomes working under pressure in a high performing environment.
Formal tertiary qualifications in journalism, communication, marketing or related fields will also be highly desirable.
The benefits
The opportunity to work on a high profile government projects and be involved in the end-to-end, hands on delivery of requirements and gain Campaign experience in the APS.
This is an initial 12 month hourly rate contract paid as an hourly rate contractor with an attractive hourly rate.
What we are looking for
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication strategies.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in communication, journalism, public relations, and/or marketing.
Ability to develop productive relationships with and communicate across all levels of the organisation and deliver results under limited supervision.
Demonstrated time management and planning skills, with the ability to manage complex projects.
Demonstrated experience with interpreting and reporting on website traffic and online customer engagement metrics such as Google and Facebook analytics.
Desirable attributes
Experience in government campaigns, media, or virtual assistants (chat bots).
Experience with social media platforms and services and social media publishing and monitoring technology
