Job Description
About the role:
The Senior Financial Accountant will oversee the financial operations of multiple properties in Australia and New Zealand, in addition to handling accounting duties for the head office. The position involves managing a team and fostering relationships with important stakeholders. It provides opportunities for professional growth within a rapidly expanding industry.
Key responsibilities tasks:
- P&L, balance sheet, GST and cash flow statements, performance reviews, variance commentary, quarterly reviews/forecasts and Preparing and/or reviewing BAS/FBT/Corporate tax returns, and monthly payroll journals, including analysis of payroll costs.
- Provide assistance in Board pack reporting and analysis.
- Effectively managing a team of staff, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and abilities, and regularly reviewing their performance to ensure they are meeting expectations and progressing in their roles.
The Successful Applicant
To be successful in this role you need strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to explain results to stakeholders. You should work independently, multitask, collaborate with the team to meet deadlines, and be self-motivated and proactive. Additionally, you should have experience leading and managing a team, providing them with training and development.
Technical abilities
- Qualified CA/CPA Accountant with a proven track record of similar experience
- Required experience in preparing accounts for multiple companies/branches.
- Strong variance analysis and analytical skills.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and Microsoft Excel formulas.
- Management and mentoring experience with junior staff.
- Proven experience in identifying and implementing system and process improvements.
- Desirable experience in property management and Microsoft Business Central/BI360.
