Your new role
As a Tele-Interviewer you will support the underwriting team by performing over the phone interviews with prospective applicants on their medical history which is necessary for the assessment of risk.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of a superior level of customer service
- Perform tele-interviews and tele-underwriting activities
- Overseeing the collation, file preparation, data entry of Life Insured Personal Statement interview of new risk insurance applications or alterations
- Manage requests for tele-interviewing and coordinate bookings
- Tele-underwriting of applications in suspense
- Administer cases and handle inquiries within underwriting and service time standards
- Assist and conduct regular suspense management reviews.
- Manage the Underwriting Inbox, including attaching correspondence to files and providing responses to general enquiries
- Manage pre-assessment and ensure the capture of these on underwriting workflow
- Generate and quality assure Underwriting Revised Terms
- Act as subject matter expert for medical retrievals and manage enquiries relating to medical requests
- Support the underwriting team with administrative tasks including application lodgments
Your skills
- Ideally you have experience in tele-interviewing or claims and insurance support
- You are self motivated and can independently achieve high targets to maintain productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills should be second nature to you.
- Customer service skills including, active listening, rapport building, displaying empathy and the ability to handle challenging conversations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of relevant systems, products, processes, and procedures to aid delivery of a first-class service.
- Youre known for having a good work ethic and a continual improvement mindset.
- Computer and technology literate with an eye for detail and ability to proficiently multi-task.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and supportive team culture
- You pride yourself on being proactive and using your initiative.
Experience
- Insurance experience in Insurance Tele-interviewing (preferred) or Claims
- Proven experience in customer service roles
- Understanding of medical conditions/terminologies, or nursing experience is desirable
