About Our ClientOur client commenced operations in 2013 as an independent body responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Located in Brisbane, Our client minimises the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.
Job Description
* Source goods and services across a broad range of categories and implement supplier and contractual arrangements.
* Monitor target milestones, successes and achievements against contract performance criteria.
* Assist in the management and creation, implementation, and dissemination of centralised contract and procurement policies.
* Provide expert advice, support and assistance with contract and procurement processes to ensure fit for purpose goods and services are sourced in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with sound governance practices.
* Assist to create and rollout out a continuous improvement program in purchasing practices, procurement, and contract management.
* Assist Manager Procurement & Property to meet their policy, management standards and legislative and regulatory requirements from a governance, cost, and workplace, health, and safety perspective.
* Manage payments, variations and progress claims, prepare financial cost forecasts and monitor cash flow against contracts as required.
* Provide support and assistance for purchase order requisitions and goods receipt processes.
* Drive effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and partners.
* Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and health work environment.
The Successful Applicant
* Mature and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and management.
* A strong commitment to great customer service, organisational culture, values and a cohesive team environment.
* Ability to positively influence and negotiate with stakeholders and achieve business outcomes and cost savings through advanced vendor and supplier management techniques.
* Highly developed and effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong analytical thinking including the ability to resolve problems and carry out the identification and prioritisation of risk.
Essential to the Role:
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in senior or specialist procurement and contract management roles.
* Experience in liaising directly with complex Programs or Projects.
Highly Regarded:
* Experience within a regulatory environment with particular emphasis on government procurement functions, national reform or complex simultaneous projects.
* Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office suite.
* Experience in strategizing organisational sourcing solutions.
