OPPORTUNITY
This is a new position they're looking to fill aimed at bringing stability and focussed leadership to the well-established, high-performing sales team. You'll have 20 direct reports, comprising of 5 internal sales consultants & 15 external sales. The overall objective of the position is the management and leadership of the sales function in a way that satisfies short and long-term goals as set by the business, including but not limited to, the achievement of a national gross revenue & margin sales goal.
Leadership and management
Lead and direct team day to day operational needs to achieve company, department and individual goals and metrics
Optimise sales performance of the national sales team by driving productivity through effective opportunity management, territory management, customer management & account management
Knowledge and understanding of, and adherence to, including responsibility of those within your team to company policy, procedures and systems
Recruit and facilitate the onboarding of new sales staff (both internal and external)
Collaborate cross functionally to achieve company business goals
Revenue growth & optimisation
Grow the business in line with strategic planning by maximising existing and establishing new client relationships to increase sales revenue and profitability
Negotiating major deals within policy guidelines, maintaining contact with key clients and identifying and steering opportunities for business improvement
Develop sales strategy for all products and services nationally
Drive capital sales of standard range of products reducing demand on engineered to order options
Lead tenders and proposals obtaining relevant approvals for time and specification commitments
Support planning and forecasting initiatives for all sales opportunities based on reliable CRM pipeline
Advise on commercial matters relevant to the area of operations
Ensure business promise dates for delivery and services are reflected in all sales and capacity to deliver is adjusted in line with anticipated market movements

CANDIDATE
In order to be considered for this role, it's essential candidates meet the following pre-requisites:
You must be living in Sydney or are willing to relocate to Sydney for the position
You must have prior B2B (business to business) experience selling ANY sort of domestic transport service; candidates from freight brokers, 3PL & 4PL's welcome to apply
You must have regional OR national sales leadership experience, managing an external sales team towards the achievement of a sales goal
Ideally, although not essentially, we'd like to see leadership candidates that have had a demonstrated track-record of achieving a national sales target that ranges from $50M - $500M.
Intangibly, you'll need to be an exemplary leader with strong problem solving and analytical skills to exercise sound judgement. Your integrity will be of a high standard and you'll be able to capably build a collaborative sales culture around results-orientation, accountability and success.
