Senior Data Management Analyst - Brisbane | Melbourne | Sydney - 6 month contract

Randstad Technologies are working with a leading Financial Services institution in the search for a Senior Data Management Analyst on an initial 6 month contract. You will bring a strong suite of skills across Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, Data Governance and Quality to work across a variety of regulatory projects.

Key Accountabilities / Main focus

- Ensure data management practices are demonstrably conducted in line with Statutory, Regulator, Audit and Risk expectations
- Support operations of the Data Management Framework, which includes data principles, policy, standards and guidelines; ensure pragmatic and beneficial application of these to the data platforms and the wider data ecosystem
- Support the operational day to day functions of the Data Management team with the use of data management artifacts, tools, processes and practices
- Manage data quality issues, especially across critical data elements, including analysis to support triage, prioritization and root cause analysis
- Confirm data requirements and create source to target system data mappings in support of data initiatives
- Conduct data profiling to determine accuracy and completeness of data
- Complete Platform Assessments to document and advise on the impact of proposed data changes to the data platforms
- Work with 3rd party vendors and system owners to document Interface specifications and ensure data movement controls are in place and working effectively
- Ensure that data dictionaries and metadata repositories are complete, accurate and available for all data users
- Ensure that reference data sets are accurate and fit for purpose
- Conduct awareness and training initiatives to create a measurable uplift in data literacy and data handling skills across the bank
- Engender strong working relationships with Business and Technology stakeholders, and foster a strong data community between various business lines

Outline the Experience required for success in the role

- 4+ years relevant experience in a similar data management role
- Experience working in enterprise data platforms (Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, Data Engineering, Data Governance and Quality, Analytics or BI)
- Strong understanding and practical experience in data quality, management and governance frameworks and methodologies
- Experience working with third party vendors, and developing lasting relationships to ensure success
- Experience working in regulated industries, preferably in Financial Services

Skills/ knowledge required for the role

- Advanced knowledge of a discipline and/or broad knowledge of a function.
- Outline the skills required for success in the role
- Ability to manipulate and analyse large amounts of data using SQL queries.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills with an ability to communicate in both technical and business language
- Knowledge in Agile environment or working with Agile teams/release trains
