This role is a 12 month contract based opportunity with a high chance of renewal. A flexible, hybrid work environment ensures a great work-life balance - this is a Geelong based position and requires some time spent in office. This is a full time position open to Australian Citizens only.
About the Role
The APS6 Compliance Program Design Officer is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the Agencys objectives.
The position has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions.
The APS6 Compliance Program Design Officer will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. It is required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the branch/division/Agency.
Responsibilities
Some of the requirements of the role include (but are not limited to):
- Contributing to the design and evaluation of compliance business processes.
- Working within project management methodologies to deliver the compliance program of work.
- Preparing draft reports on the research, review and evaluation of projects in specific operational and technical areas.
- Maintaining a contemporary understanding of legislation, rules and policy regarding compliance best practice within the Australian Public Service.
- Providing technical advice to operational business areas to support positive compliance outcomes.
Requirements
- Australian Citizenship (required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior leadership experience
- Experience in project management
- Experience developing, leading, and supporting a team
