Reporting to Tim Trevail, Program Director you will join a team of passionate staff who are playing their part in making sure that we are here to deliver an exceptional learning experience for students.
The successful candidate will hold key responsibilities for student success in the Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Myotherapy) degree program. You will be a Myotherapist, Physiotherapist, Osteopath or similar allied health professional experienced in the delivery of undergraduate health science curriculum to manage, motivate and inspire the student body. You will be based at the Flinders Street campus in Melbourne with have flexible working options.
On a typical day in this role you will be responsible for:
Teaching/Learning Facilitation
Deliver lectures, seminars, forums, workshops/practical sessions and tutorials, both online and on campus using innovative learning and teaching practices
prepare, review and update teaching materials as identified by the Program Director or in response to quality measures
draft, review and update assessment tools, set and mark assessments and examination papers where needed
Research and Scholarship
Contribute to research and research output aligned with the discipline. Research must align with the university's strategic plan, and time commitment be agreed with line manager
Maintain their professional proficiency/currency through a self-directed program of academic scholarship
Industry and Professional Practice
Maintain and engage with industry professional connections, strategic alliances and relevant professional bodies including industrial, commercial and public organisations
Academic Leadership
Supervise or mentor academic staff
Collaboration, Outcomes and Innovation
Collaborate with other academic staff across Torrens Global Education to influence group approaches and identify best practice in teaching and learning
This is a full time fixed term contract (until December 2022) based at the Flinders Street Campus with 3 days required on Campus, with a potential for ongoing opportunities.
To be successful in this position you will have:
PhD or equivalent or evidence of substantial educational leadership (masters qualified candidates welcome to apply)
Experienced Myotherapist, Physiotherapist, Osteopath or similar allied health professional
Experienced in the delivery of undergraduate health science curriculum
Consistency in the application of the National Code 2007 & ESOS & associated legislation in matters relating to overseas students Understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles relevant to the student cohort being taught
Sound understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the discipline that is being taught
