job detailsAn initial 6 month engagement, for an experienced Principal Business Analyst, This is a contract role, commencing as soon as possible and running through to 30 June 2024, with possible contract extension. You will be based at the Edward Street in Brisbane CBD, with hybrid on-site/work from home flexibility (not fully remote).In the role of Principal Business Analyst, Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 Project, you will be responsible for leading and proactively consulting with representatives in the identification, analysis and documentation of business processes and requirements related to the development, and implementation of the Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 Project. The Principal Business Analyst reports to the Manager Business Solution Design & Change, Solution Strategy & Design.
What you will be responsible for?
- Lead the analysis of business, user and system variations to current processes and practices being performed in the Hospital and Health Services (HHS) and the Department of Health resulting from the program using approved tools and methods.
- Develop high quality documentation for all stakeholder groups and provide advice on the application of new/changed processes
- Oversee the research and recommend variations to local business rules and procedural matters
- Lead and consult with Queensland Health business representatives across the state to gather relevant data to inform process changes, training and development programs and system configurations to meet the needs of all Queensland health stakeholders.
- Provide specialist strategic and operational advice on business and solution processes, using experience and knowledge of the business and SAP payroll solution
- Establish frameworks to assess new features and capability of systems whilst engaging with stakeholders
- Provide advice with the development and implementation of program and project plans and subsidiary plans that link with Department and branch outcomes.
- Undertake risk and issues identification and provide advice regarding implementation of program and project plans.
- Inspire team members by investing time in building positive and productive relationships, setting clear objectives and providing professional leadership, guidance and support.
- Actively contribute to the creation of a positive work environment
What you will need to be successful?
An ideal candidate would be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience implementing Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 in a large enterprise environment
- Proven experience in researching, analysing and documenting business requirement specifications, documenting software requirement specifications and using Use Case methodology.
- Knowledge and understanding of the health industry, legislation, and regulations including those related to awards, rostering and human resources.
- Proven experience in drawing business process models including as is and to be.
- Proven high level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex environment.
- Proven ability to manage a large workload whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy.
- The ideal candidate would be able to work onsite in Brisbane, and remotely in accordance with government policies (currently 60/40). Consideration may be given to alternative arrangements subject to applicant availability.
- Ability to travel intra state (if required) to support critical project milestones and delivery. It is not expected to occur as part of normal day-to-day activities.
- Experience with SAP Payroll, within a 24x7 complex environment would be highly desirable.
