Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) is the statutory authority responsible for regulating, conducting, and
promoting greyhound racing in our state.

re-homes more than 2,600 greyhounds, and directly involves over 17,000 people. ...
Our vision is Victorian greyhound racing is a vibrant, entertaining and thriving sport with animal welfare at
its heart. The integrity of the sport and the welfare of greyhounds are both significant components of the
strategic objectives of GRV.
Primary Purpose of the Role:
GRV Integrity ensures greyhound racing is conducting fairly with transparency. Its span includes Race Day
Operations, Integrity Operations, Veterinary Services, and Legal Services (Prosecutions). Registered participants
(trainers, owners, and breeders) are accountable for compliance with the Rules of Racing, the Code of Practice
for the Keeping of Racing Greyhounds, and relevant legislation. Alleged breaches of the rules and code by
participants are prosecuted through Victorian Racing Tribunal (VRT), the Victorian Civil and Administrative
Tribunal (VCAT) and/or the courts.
The Senior Lawyer leads the prosecution of alleged breaches by working closely with colleagues to ensure briefs
are accurate and complete, coordinating and supervising case management, representing GRV at tribunals and
the courts, liaising with legal firms, and advising/coaching team members and colleagues.
(While the Senior Lawyer reports to the General Manager Integrity, GRVs General Counsel and GM Corporate
Services offers professional supervision and support as required).
Qualifications and Experience:
5+ years experience conducting civil, administrative, and criminal litigation including court appearances.
Team leadership experience (desirable).
Driver licence.
Attributes, Knowledge and Skills:
Animal racing, (desirable).
Relevant legislation, policy and legal practise pertaining to the position and GRV.
Skills, being the demonstrated ability to:
Analyse situations, identify solutions, negotiate outcomes, and solve problems.
Build, nurture, and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Coach, lead, motivate, and supervise a small team.
Communicate professional in writing and orally.
Constructively manage issues to ensure positive outcomes where possible.
Create and deliver formal presentations and written reports.
