- Commencing Term 2 2022 Part time (0.6) - term-time only
- Member of Wellbeing team, working closely with Heads of School, Director of Wellbeing, & Counsellors
- Contribute to the school's mission in preparing students for a lifetime of learning, leadership and engagement in the global community
Key Deliverables:
The responsibilities of the Student Counsellor - Senior School include but are not limited to:
- Assessing students using WISC-V, WIAT-III, BASC3 and writing reports to profile students with detailed information to support student learning
- Counselling students experiencing emotional, personal, social, school or family difficulties or difficulties with academic progress or organisation
- Advise parents on behavioural management, improved school progress or at-risk situation.
- Acting as a resource for staff and parents with regard to child/adolescent development, Health Education and related matters
- Contributing to policy development related to student welfare issues
- Maintaining and storing confidential counselling records
Key Selection Criteria:
- Active interest in and commitment to supporting the wellbeing of adolescents with experience in counselling and supporting a student wellbeing programme
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with both adults and students
- Strong collaboration and resourcefulness as a team member who ensures inclusivity
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion
- Technological literacy
Requirements:
- Releveant Tertiary Qualifications
- Registered Psychologist with AHPRA
- First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)
