Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveillance and audit activities, including specialist investigations in construction materials testing and calibration of equipment.
- Provide expert technical advice and consultancy to departmental staff, government agencies, industry, and consultants on procedural aspects of tests, methodologies, specifications, and technical notes.
- Foster positive client and stakeholder relationships through effective liaison and consultation, ensuring expectations are managed, performance is reviewed, and issues are addressed promptly.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, including NATA requirements and AS ISO/IEC 17025:2018, to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in asphalt testing, production plants, and paving operations, including specialist tests, investigations, and audit activities
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in CMT asphalt testing within laboratory settings.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player
- Ability to effectively manage workload tasks and achieve outcomes within set timelines
- Availability for night work and willingness to travel interstate as required
A combination of the below experience will be considered:
- In-depth understanding of NATA requirements and AS ISO/IEC 17025:2018
- Proven experience in field testing and paving applications
- Familiarity with QTMR test methods and Australian Standards
- Possession of a Nuclear Densometer user license and NGTM competency
