Where you'll be workingThe Bureau of Health Information (BHI) is a board-governed organisation that provides independent reports on the performance of the NSW public healthcare system. BHIs primary purpose is to provide timely, accurate and comparable information on the performance of the NSW public healthcare system in ways that enhance the systems accountability and informs efforts to improve healthcare. Our vision is that BHI is the trusted provider of healthcare performance information, that our information is used to inform decisions, and that this information supports continued improvement to patients experiences and outcomes of care in NSW.

What you'll be doing - Senior Data Analyst
The Senior Data Analyst works in a collaborative team environment to conduct high quality, descriptive analyses and provide interpretation in investigations of variation in health system performance with a focus on patient experience mentor other analysts contribute to appropriate positioning of the Bureau as a respected and trusted provider of timely, accurate and comparable information products on the performance of the NSW public health system

Remuneration: $116,403.00 - $132,700.00 per annum, plus superannuation

Selection Criteria Evidence of advanced analytic skills: extensive data analysis and interpretation of healthcare evidence and improvement strategies; developing and validating methods and measures of health system performance; preparing and presenting analysis and reports; and developing associated information or resources. Experience and expert knowledge of statistical analysis software such as SAS, and other products such as Excel to optimise efficiency and quality of data outputs. Extensive knowledge of administrative data collections for NSW and Australia, including their strengths and limitations. Extensive experience conducting and interpreting descriptive analyses of population-based administrative data and/or survey data, linked data, in order to describe and compare the health system performance for a range of audiences (public, clinical, policy makers). Demonstrated experience of collaborating and working effectively in a team-based environment, while making a unique contribution to a larger deliverable. Experience providing analytic support, advice, mentorship and / or supervision to less experienced data analysts. Relevant graduate and / or post graduate qualification and / or equivalent relevant experience.

COVID-19 Vaccination Compliancy
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available.
