As a part-time Paramedic, youll play a crucial role as a first responder to any incidents. Youll get to apply your specialist skills while deployed in field environments, adding new experiences and techniques to your everyday role.
Youll also be responsible for independent pre-hospital emergency care, evacuation of causalities and the resuscitation for the sick and wounded, and much more.
Whether youre coordinating a scene in a pre-hospital care setting, conducting prohibited substance testing or managing and treating basic sports injuries, youll be gaining leadership skills and practical knowledge to take back to your full-time role.

The pay you receive in the Army Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax, and it increases as you gain seniority and experience.
On completion of your initial military and employment training, you could earn at least $200/day tax-free.
Additional amounts are paid for time spent on exercises and deployments.
Life in the Army Reserve
Thousands of men and women enjoy part-time roles with the Army Reserve, operating alongside full-time Army personnel. The only difference is that your commitment is flexible.
Initial training length will vary based on your chosen role, after which you will normally be expected to serve between 20 and 100 days per year. This could involve one night a week, one weekend a month or a few weeks a year.
We do our best to make sure this fits in with your work and family commitments; and deployments are voluntary so if you choose to stay local, there are plenty of ways to make a difference closer to home. And with no minimum period of service, you can leave the Army Reserve whenever you like.

For this role, you must be over 17 at time of enlistment and have completed an Australian Year 10 education (or equivalent) with passes in English and Mathematics.
You will also be required to provide evidence of employment as a current practising state-based Paramedic, based on the Combat Paramedic Checklist. This includes:A letter from the member's employer outlining the applicants level of practiceA valid AHPRA registration as a ParamedicA Licence/Certificate of Practice or equivalent if availableA copy of current treatment protocols / guidelines to level of practice
