About the Role
Reporting to the PNG Manager Non-Operated Developments, the primary objective of this position is undertake Santos technical assessment of non-operated assets to support key development decisions, including expansion of PNG LNG and Papua LNG.
This will be delivered by generating robust and defendable reservoir models to forecast production and volume outcomes under various development concepts, leading to optimal reservoir depletion plans and maximizing value of the companys resources. As a non-operated team member, work will include reviewing operator models, interacting with Joint Venture partner technical staff and monitoring production/drilling operations.
Based in Brisbane this is a permanent Santos position.
Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos company values and Santos Management System (SMS). Key responsibilities of the role include though are not limited to:
Develop and maintain dynamic reservoir models that can be used to test reservoir uncertainties, evaluate field depletion plans, optimise the development sequence and identify opportunities to increase production and reserves from developed and undeveloped reservoirs.Contribute to core subsurface activities including petroleum engineering, drilling, workover and completion programmes, reservoir simulation, reserves redetermination, and reserve audits.Provide volumetric, EUR and forecast data for use in corporate production forecasts and economic assessment of future projects.Promote integration across all reservoir development disciplines.
About You
To succeed as it is essential that you have formal qualifications including though not limited to:
· Bachelor of Engineering or higher degree
· Engineering Registration in Petroleum Engineering NER/RPEQ or equivalent highly regarded
· A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the E&P business
· Experience in the application of reservoir engineering principles to oil and gas production in clastic reservoirs, with strength in reservoir simulation
· Extensive experience in the analysis of reservoir, well and facility performance using common industry software including Eclipse, MBAL, Prosper/GAP, PANSYSTEM, OFM and PVTsim (or equivalent)
· Experience in asset evaluation and integrated asset development planning
Desired experience for this position includes:
· Carbonate experience would be advantageous, including numerical simulation of carbonate reservoirs
· Experience in coaching and supervision of junior staff
· Exposure to Previso software
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills that can be applied across disciplines
· Ability to respond flexibly to the companys needs and understand the appropriate level of detail for the specific task
