Job Description
The successful candidate will report to the Senior Management Accountant for the management and accuracy of the financial asset register, the monthly reconciliation, capitalisation, depreciation and other related accounts.
- Ensure that asset purchases are made in accordance with City guidelines and procedures
- Capitalise and dispose of assets periodically and reconciles accounts
- Manage asset stocktaking
- Develop and maintain Asset Management Practice and procedures manual for financial asset register
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Senior Management Accountant and Manager Finance Services
- Assist in the co-ordination of the asset related budgeting and forecasting processes in line with the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate:
- Is knowledgeable in accounts reconciliation and balancing
- Has prior experience in experience in assets accounting
- Will undertake a current National Police Clearance
- Has an understanding of Local Government Act and Regulations as they relate to capital assets
