We are recruiting for multiple vacancies to work as a Randstad contractor at one of our commonwealth government clients. About the TeamThe Research and Evaluation Branch is responsible for ensuring that the agency policies, practices and priorities are informed by trustworthy and robust evidence. The branch aims to improve evidence-based decision making within the agency and finds solutions to high priority issues, shaping research to maximise its impact for the community.
The branch is accountable for collating and conducting research, evidence, best practice and lived experiences for decision-making. This includes evaluating key agency programs and initiatives, ensuring staff are able to find, generate and utilise evidence for decision-making and translating our knowledge of research to our customers and stakeholders.About the Role
The Assistant Director Evidence Synthesis & Innovation will support the planning and conduct of evidence synthesis projects and clinical trials of new non-pharmacological interventions or innovative service delivery aiming to deliver the best available research evidence to inform Agency decisions.
The successful candidate/s will provide detailed technical, professional, policy and operational advice in relation to complex problems. It will be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program, project management and policy development to support the agency's objectives.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Working with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritise, scope, develop and manage project plans.Working with external partners (e.g., industry and academia) to develop and roll-out join research projects targeting a verity of supports and participant groups. Leading environmental scans, systematic or scoping reviews as well as meta-analyses of evidence and current practice relevant to the sector.Designing and documenting protocols for environmental scans, evidence snapshots, scoping or systematic reviews of evidence relevant to participants or models of practice.Ensuring the searching, screening, data extraction and reporting of scientific and grey literature is in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) standards.Performing research in line with documented protocols for inclusion/exclusion of records, data extraction, assessment of quality and data synthesis.Designing and documenting clinical trial protocols, analysis plans and ethics submissions. Maintaining project related records including research software or platforms.Preparing and presenting internal reports including slide-pack summaries for stakeholders and communicating recommendations to stakeholders based upon the findings.
Additional InformationThe team you will be working with is geographically dispersed. You can work from the Adelaide CBD office and from home (hybrid working model).You must be an Australian citizen to work in the commonwealth government.These roles are initially for 12 months with potential for extension.There are four vacancies and you will be considered for APS6 and EL1 equivalent roles.Candidate based in VIC, NSW and WA can also be considered.0.6 to 1.0 (3-5 days / week) arrangements are to be considered.
