We utilise an expert team of WHS professionals within our team enabling us to deliver on our commitments to Work, Health, and Safety.We are currently seeking an experienced WHS Coordinator to act in a roving role, supporting a wide range of civil and rail infrastructure projects across the business, including, assisting in the implementation and ongoing management of our ONRSR Rolling Stock Operator (RSO) Rail Accreditation.
This is a permanent position that will be based out of our Head Office in Beresfield and Regional Office in Mount Thorley. There is also an expectation for this role to be geographically mobile so as to provide operational support onsite. Delivery of WHS service and assurance to our project and corporate teams for both rail and civil aspects will be a core component of this role.
In order to be effective in the role, we are looking for an individual with strong skillsets and experience in the rail sector who also has a strong understanding of the Rail Safety Act and ONRSR accreditation and rolling stock requirements. Ideally, the preferred candidate will also have an equally strong background in Civil Infrastructure and construction.
This role will act as our rail specialist within the group but will move fluidly between rail and civil infrastructure projects as required.
About the role:
You will be instrumental in monitoring and assisting with implementation of the Rail Safety Management Plan and Daracon Integrated Management System whilst providing specialist WHS advice and influencing positive behaviours on a range of civil and rail projects. This is an active role that requires the candidate to possess experience across working with some of our key clients like ARTC, Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains and ideally Transport for NSW (TfNSW).

To be considered for this role you will have:
Mandatory:Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (or equivalent);Rail Industry Worker Competent;Experience with incident investigation (ideally ICAM);High level of skill and expertise working and coordinating WHS requirements in the Rail environment;Experience working in accordance with Rail Safety Accreditation (specifically rolling stock) and Rail Safety interface Agreements;In-field experience working in similar Civil construction industries;Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with managers, executive and staff to achieve business outcomes;Current Drivers License;Construction Induction Training (White Card or equivalent);Subcontractor management experience;Experience in maintaining systems in accordance with AS4801 or ISO45001 and ONRSR;Experienced in conflict resolution;Competent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)Ability to problem solve and assist with making practical decisions in a high stress environment;Ability to consult and influence throughout all levels of the organisation;Ability to interpret legislation and related standards;Strong Client management and engagement skills;Experience liaising with Rail regulators;Willingness to work occasional weekends and be on call, andExperience influencing WHS Behaviors throughout all levels of the organisation.
Preferable:Lead Auditor Qualified (WHS Management Systems);Qualifications / Experience in Risk Management Processes or similar;Experience developing Accredited Rail Safety Management Plans and Rail Safety Interface Agreements;Previous Authorised Drug & Alcohol testing Person under ONRSR Accreditation and/orCertificate IV Training and Assessing.
