Project Engineer - Zinfra

Randstad have been tasked with targeting professionals from the UK & Irish, Canadian & South African engineering markets, with the aim of engaging with engineering / project management professionals that are hoping to relocate to Australia in 2023 / 2024.

One of the most recognised energy infrastructure names in Australia, Zinfra build, operate and maintain major energy infrastructure assets across Australia. Wholly owned by Jemena and with over two decades of industry experience, Zinfra delivers a wide range of engineering, project management, construction, operations and maintenance services to Power and Gas asset owners. With a diverse workforce of over 1,700 people in Australia, Zinfra is growing rapidly and is set to double revenue over the next 5 years.

About the role
Zinfra have a vast number of live and upcoming projects throughout Australia (Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania) and are hoping to speak to Project Engineers at varying levels. Typical projects for Zinfra range between $5m-$50m (although projects $50m-$100m+ are common), primarily across substations (greenfield build or brownfield asset replacement) and transmission line construction / life extension work.

Projects tend to primarily be regional, with roughly 25% of projects based in metropolitan areas. Project Engineers would be required to work on-site with general rosters of 5/2 for substation work and 3 weeks on / 1 week off for transmission line projects. Salary uplift is paid while working away, as well as living away from home allowance (LAFHA).

- Support the tender and delivery of projects.
- Contribute to the technical management across all areas of the project management framework.
- Manage the delivery of portions of large, complex projects and/or entire small low risk projects.
- Contribute to the management of projects from start to finish, focus on time, cost, quality, health, safety and environmental management.
- Contribute to the management of contracts, scope, procurement, risk and opportunity, stakeholder communications and project integration.
- Assist with the preparation of client reports, helping to develop record systems for assigned areas.
- Participate in project meetings and ensure action items are complete.
- Understanding of project status reports and assisting with preparation as required.
- Contribute to the development of communications plans and establish communication protocols for relevant stakeholders.
- Understanding of Zinfra values and policies and conduct yourself in accordance with these tenets.

About you

Successful candidates must have a technical qualification relating to the industry (bachelor degree or equivalent) and 3-10 years project experience in utilities, infrastructure or construction.

Preferred candidates will have a solid understanding of HSEQ process and requirements, as well as an understanding of risk and opportunity management processes. Exposure to all stages of the project lifecycle is a must, as well as the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
