About the roleReporting into the Maintenance Superintendent, the main objective of this position is to perform preventative and predictive maintenance, and to improve the reliability and safety of the manufacturing equipment.
You will provide focused support for engineering and sustainable business improvement in the following ways: Coke Ovens Senior Mechanical Engineer will provide engineering/technical oversight to the wider team Performing project or task management functions as delegated by the Engineering & Reliability Lead, including coordination of technical meetings, generating scope of work, general engineering contract supervision and coordination Review and approve mechanical engineering activities planned by the contractors to ensure compliance with the Scope of Work and quality objectives of the project Managing the planning, safe execution and commissioning of approved projects to agreed scope, budget, schedule, quality and relevant standards and specifications Providing Mechanical Engineering support to maintenance team improve reliability of plant and equipment, maintain asset integrity and resolve operational issues and problems Leading due diligence, structural integrity and crane PTPI actions raised or initiated by support services Knowledge of preparing/reviewing drawings (AutoCAD/Solid works), calculations, and reports to make recommendations for engineering improvements & problem solving Ensure that Company requirements for technical uniformity, technical assurance, and standardisation are properly incorporated into the engineering tasks undertaken About your experience
You are an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is safety focused, collaborative and proactive in their approach. You have excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders of varying degrees of authority.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following: Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering Post-graduate qualifications in Project/ Maintenance/ Engineering Management/ Reliability is desirable Mechanical Engineering experience, ideally in a steel fabrication environment A solid understanding of plant maintenance, engineering practices, safety & design applications Previous experience leading projects in large scale heavy process or manufacturing related businesses is essential Demonstrated experience in heavy industry, mineral processing, or manufacturing businesses Strong report writing skills and techniques Competency in Engineering, maintenance and problem-solving skills Experience with SAP or similar maintenance management systems About our team
