Job summary
The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of Salini-Impregilo, Clough and Lane and has recently been selected as preferred tenderer to design and construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW, and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who has had experience in mega infrastructure projects, ideally with Underground Tunnelling exposure. The role will support the Plant Department in the management of Snowy 2.0's Project core Plant, in particular the Mechanical Engineer will direct and coordinate equipment, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and the Deed requirements. The role will be 5 days on 2 days off, fly in fly out from Capital City's or drive in drive out for any local applicants.
Key functions will include: Establish and maintain strong and open relationships with site supervisors, subcontractors and Client representatives Develop and ensure the implementation and ongoing management of Construction Method Statements/Work Packs and related Inspection and Test Plans Ensuring latest revision drawings, procedures, forms and other relevant documentation are used onsite in consultation and assistance of the Document Controllers Implement, maintain, and improve Plant equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems. Provide technical support and reporting Operate computer-assisted engineering and software and equipment to perform engineering tasks Direct and coordinate Plant manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance Inspect completed Plant installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment Supervise and train project team members as necessary Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs; Develop budgets, estimating labour, material, and construction costs.
We are seeking a candidate with the following profile: Relevant Tertiary qualifications BS in Engineering At least 5 years of previous experience in large infrastructure projects Experience across Tunnelling, Underground excavation and Fixed / Mobile plant / equipment Experience working within a Design and Construct Contractor Environment Able to manage effective relationships with the client, subcontractors and internal stakeholders Well developed time management, organisational, communication and problem solving skills Ability to work to deadlines and targets and can prioritise tasks under pressure Flexible and adaptable
