About AWLQ:AWLQ is one of Queenslands most dynamic and best-loved charities. Our organisation is the leader in the zero euthanasia movement nationally and is considered a national leader in animal welfare. AWLQ locally provides a safe haven for close to 10,000 stray and homeless animals each year, while also assisting other communities in saving homeless animals.
In addition to our shelter work, we are committed to keeping pets and people together by providing lifesaving support and resources to people in need with companion animals. We are known for our grassroots and innovative community-based animal welfare work including working with councils and pounds to save more lives, our community vet clinics, Getting to Zero, Golden Hearts Seniors Support Program and the National Desexing Network.
About the Role:
The Community Engagement Co-ordinator will source, engage, and maintain strong community group support to increase AWLQ financial support and raise AWLQ awareness within the general community through events and functions.
Key Responsibilities Include:Research and develop an annual plan for outreach activities to increase awareness and build strategic relationships with key stakeholder groups.Develop, maintain and nurture community relationships with key stakeholder groups and ensure the longevity and viability of the relationship.Schedule and present community presentations with a focus on sourcing funding.Coordinate and attend events with a focus on raising AWLQ awareness and increasing support.Oversee events from development to set-up/ pack down including providing training for VolunteersDevelop and manage an events calendar with the purpose of raising funds, generating income and increasing awareness or community reach.Proactively seek new opportunities and events for participation.Proactively build and strengthen relationships with supporters.Support Community, Corporate, Council events and coordinate other third party fundraiser events.Collaborate with the wider BD TeamCoordinate and grow the Donation Box Program
The ideal candidate will meet the following selection criteria:Current drivers licence essentialPolice check - essentialPrevious sales and marketing experienceTertiary qualification in Marketing and Events (highly desired)High level computer skillsConfident and competent public speakerHighly developed communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to empathise with AWLQ customers and followersAbility to negotiate and connect with a wide variety of audiencesStrong time management, organisation and attention to detailAbility to work autonomously while managing your own time effectivelyInitiative and versatility
The successful candidate will be available to work early mornings, evenings and weekends for the purpose of attending events and presentations as required in the role.
