job detailsA unique opportunity has come up for a motivated Finance Analyst for a large financial services organisation here in Brisbane. As a house-hold name, this leading organisation has recently undergone a large acquisition, and as a result is undergoing an incredible growth phase. There is an opportunity for an initial 6-month contract with a possibility of extension.
The role is for an experienced Finance Analyst, supporting the Senior Manager within the Finance Business Partnering division. The team is currently four people who work in a hybrid arrangement. This role will suit an experienced Finance Analyst, preferably with a background in Financial Services, however is open to other industries.
The role of the Finance Analyst is:

- To support the portfolio in all financial matters;
- To effectively partner across the wider business;
- To be responsible for producing data, reporting and analytics which is required to support the portfolio;
- To Advise on business case development, forecasting and financial governance;
- To contribute to the committee reporting and governance, and stakeholder groups;
- To support business decisions at all levels (strategic planning, resource allocation, process efficiency and other ad-hoc analysis) as well as for internal and external reporting.
Your day to day will include:
- Providing insights to business partners to advise and assist with solutions;
- Month end processing including journals, time-sheet analysis, variance analysis on spend;
- Developing benefits realisation framework to be incorporated into business cases;
- Forecasting and forward planning, contributing to the annual budget and planning process;
- Developing policies, procedures and frameworks supporting the portfolio;
- Working alongside governance team focusing on continuous improvements to governance frameworks;
- Contributing to reviews of assets, including CAPEX, OPEX, WIP management;
- Providing mentorship and training where possible to team and business partners.
To be considered for this role, you must exhibit a high level of commercial acumen, exceptional interpersonal skills and at least 3 years within a Finance Analyst role. You must have your post graduate qualification (CA/CPA) or are working towards completion.
