Anglicare Tasmania is a non-profit organisation providing a wide range of community services to the people of Tasmania. We are part of the national Anglicare Australia network of organisations. Anglicare advocates for social justice and aids people in times of need. We provide programs relating to health, housing, families, drug and alcohol treatment and support and more.
This position is responsible for supporting, managing and monitoring regional staff and services within our Housing Connect project in conjunction with the Area Manager. The role provides leadership, direction and ensures targets, reporting requirements and objectives in the region are achieved. A key focus of the Area Coordinator is to engage regional stakeholders in a variety of forums to promote positive relationships.
What you will have: a high level of understanding of the issues relating to homelessness, poverty, unemployment, health, family violence, substance use and other social factors which impact on vulnerable or at risk people and the political and social context in which they occur; current knowledge and applicability of legislation relevant to the position such as the Residential Tenancy Act 1997, Privacy Act 1988, mandatory reporting requirements, social housing sector, national housing and homelessness policy framework demonstrated support skills relating to people who are homeless or in housing need and the ability to facilitate the establishment of long term housing including the ability to effectively manage staff and stakeholders, resolve conflicts and effectively respond to a range of feedback. sound conceptual and analytical skills and experience in contributing to planning processes and the development of highly effective social services including understanding of client feedback and participation strategies and ways to measure and improve these processes. excellent networking skills and demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationship to ensure high quality services are being delivered

The successful applicant must be willing to: provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check if you are applying for the 1st time or have renewed your registration since 1st February 2021; present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people type National Police Check (no older than 12 months); provide an International Police Check if you have resided for 12 months or more outside of Australia after the age of 16; provide a satisfactory Anglicare assessed medical: provide evidence of a booking for a COVID-19 vaccine, a copy of your COVID-19 Digital Certificate or a vaccination exemption; provide a current provisional or full Australian Driver Licence.

On commencement the successful persons will be required to undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
